Alpha Stem Cell Clinic
We are one of five “Alpha Clinics” in a network designated by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), the state’s stem cell agency. The UC San Diego CIRM Alpha Stem Cell Clinic is the cell therapy arm of Sanford Stem Cell Clinical Center at UC San Diego Health. We specialize in early phase, first-in-human trials. The Sanford Stem Cell Clinical Center also supports research and education in stem cells.
Our mission is to advance the testing and delivery of safe and effective stem cell-based therapies in regenerative medicine.

Moores Cancer Center
Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the San Diego region. Such centers are prominent among the leading institutions in the nation that are dedicated to scientific innovation and clinical excellence, and studies show that outcomes are better at NCI-designated centers.
Moores Cancer Center also is the first and only San Diego-based member institution of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of the world’s leading cancer centers that treat patients with a broad spectrum of cancers and are recognized for dealing with complex, aggressive or rare cancers.
We are unique in bringing clinical care together with support services, clinical trials (more than 200) for novel therapies, prevention and outreach programs, and cancer research laboratories — all under one roof.
